Young Official Deployment Officer: Volunteer Opportunity

Young Official Deployment Officer – Various Regions

Employment basis: Voluntary, however appropriate expenses can be covered by responsible use of the budget.

Budget responsibility: £500

Volleyball Englandis looking to assign a Young Official Deployment Officer (YODO) in each of it’s nine regions, including;

  • North East
  • North West
  • Yorkshire
  • East Midlands
  • West Midlands
  • East Anglia
  • London
  • South East
  • South West

This is an opportunity for somebody to gain some valuable experience as a volunteer and help their local and regional associations provide more structured volleyball to young people. This occurs with the YODO actively recruiting other volunteers to lead our Young Referees Award, who will then start to create a network of tutors and Young Referees nationwide. They will also work with the associations to offer opportunities for the Young Referees to continue to develop their refereeing skills.

Currently, our Young Referees are used at regional Let’s Play Volleyball events, and regularly attend inter-regional championships and national Let’s Play Volleyball tournaments. Additional to this, the most gifted Young Referees will be invited to attend a Level 4 National event in the UK School Games, which includes teams not just from England, but also Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland!
